Progress

The barn is getting weathered in - thank goodness! The wind and the snow have made for some miserable days but the guys are marching on.

I love this view of the windows in the loft.  I can hardly wait to slide the barn door open and get to work on projects for the next sale.

It's the countdown!

5 days to the pre-sale at Serendip-i-ty!

Just $10 at the door will give you the opportunity to see what has been created by our 8 talented participants, including 2 new contributors to this sale - Judy Neal, who I introduced in a prior post and ...

Andrea Green of the Green Pickle.

Andrea moved here recently from California.  She is the creator of the Etsy shop "The Green Pickle" since February of 2009.  You could also have found some of her creations at a small shop in California.

Be sure to visit her Etsy shop at www.etsy.com/shop/thegreenpickle where you can special order picture frames and buntings.

You can see these items in person at Serendip-i-ty plus some beautiful seasonal items such as ornaments, stockings and Christmas tree skirts.

You won't want to miss your opportunity to meet Andrea and the rest of the crew.

See you very soon!

Serendip-i-ty is sparkling

It takes quite a crew to pull off a sale at Serendip-i-ty.
A very special thanks to my brother, Zak Pullen for the layout and design of all my advertising, not to mention his love and encouragement.

Thanks to my daughter, Macinsey Green for the wonderful photographs, my mom Glenda Pullen for not only contributing to the sale but doing the heavy lifting required to transform a shop into a magical place.

To to all who participate in the sale

&

those of you who spread the Serendip-i-ty word.

I am so grateful.

More goodies have arrived

Before the sun had a chance to rise on Monday morning, goodies arrived from Utah.

I am so excited for you all to see what Cheri and Amanda have created!
After many years of picking and shopping my family and I have become experts in packing vehicles and I guarantee this UHaul was strategically packed to fit items from floor to ceiling.

This picture was just as we had unloaded no more than four items.  Once the UHaul was empty we hardly had a trail to maneuver through the shop...and we have more inventory on the way!

It looks like we will be strategically packing the shop for this sale and restocking daily as items are sold.

You won't want to miss this one!

Oh lovely autumn....

Autumn has been good to us this year.  The days are warm like summer but noticeably shorter and the light is a hazy golden color.  I love, during this transition to bring out my boots and light sweaters with warm hues and I especially appreciate my hot tea with almond milk first thing to warm me on chilly mornings.

Another of my favorites during this season is my much anticipated girls trip.  Cheri, Amanda, my mom and I all head out to Salt Lake City on Labor Day weekend to visit our favorite haunts and discover new ones.  We were joined by Amelia, the newest college student and Stantyn, the newest member of the family.

First, we discovered George's - a fun antique and architectural salvage spot.
I love the SIMPLIFY sign amongst all the clutter...how ironic.  We picked our way through the inside and the equally packed yard and found some fun treasures.

Including this really cool cart with coffee table written all over it!
Our second stop was "Walls".  I highly recommend this shop if you are looking for large graphic wallpaper and a big dose of inspiration.  I love the feeling I got in this shop.  Lord, what they can do with a converted mechanics garage!

While I was out shopping... dirt was being moved to prepare for construction of the barn/the new and improved spot for Serendipity.  Since then the guys have gotten some poles up so I can better picture how big it will actually be.

It is hard to tell by the picture but it will give Serendipity some more room, a bathroom, and my office/studio a place upstairs - how exciting!  A couple of contractors are busy compiling bids for the remodel of the house so construction can begin in that area in a couple weeks.  We expect to move in sometime in May.  Crazy how life changes!

I'm off to complete some projects for the Fall/Winter Sale.  Looking forward to seeing you all in November.

Time for school!

I can hardly believe today is the first day of school!  My girls headed out full of nerves and anticipation.... and I made a vow to myself to create something everyday from now until the Winter Sale - but first I need to organize all the loot I have gathered - how exciting!

In anticipation of the Winter Sale I am posting a few of my favorite "customer appreciation" photos from the Spring Sale.

Just enough space to hold the chair she purchased.
One of our youngest and cutest shoppers!
One of our favorite shopaholics!

Take a deep breath, drive safe and enjoy this first happy school day!

What an inspiring trip!

Summer is almost over and as always I feel like I need to cram in as many trips as I can before the new school year begins.
After a quick trip to Jackson for some hiking, good friends and yummy food my girls and I headed off to Denver for some school, home and Serendipity shopping!  I love the Internet!  I found a long list of architectural salvage and antique markets that I was only able to chip away at but was happy to find a couple interesting shops that are just tucked away. I was very happy to find some great architectural pieces, including what will prove to be a very cool front door at Architectural Salvage, Inc.  Be sure to check out some great finds at www.antiquelady.com.

Mom met us there and we spent the day at Old Glory Antiques Urban Home + Design. I had to peel myself out of this shop.  Everything I love - her tag line reads "the uncommon, the unexpected, the beautiful." and I agree.

Check out this awesome chandelier made from spoons!  I love it.
I will make this a regular stop whenever I am in Denver.  Be sure to check out her blog at http://oldgloryantiques.blogspot.com

A move in the works!

What have I been doing for the month of July?  Not blogging obviously.

My husband and I have been working on plans for my family's new home as well as the new home for serendip-i-ty!  That's right serendip-i-ty is getting a new and improved home and should be open and ready for business in 2012.

This is basically what it should look like!  I am so excited!

But don't let me confuse you....the Winter Sale scheduled for this November 10,11 and 12 will still be held at our original location.  Barns take a while to build!  I was just bursting at the seams to show you the plan!  I will keep you updated on the progress as the building is constructed so keep checking back.

I am also very excited about a new vendor who will join us for the the Winter 2011 Sale!  I will introduce her in future posts but I will say that she is very talented lady and will have some wonderful ephemera and funky  and surprising re-purposed items available for you or for fun holiday gifts.

Enjoy the hot weather today and the rain showers tonight.

Whew! We are at it again...

After a little break, following the sale, we are back at it - preparing for our Winter Sale!  How exciting! We have so many fun ideas and can hardly wait to show you.

We have big news!!  Since we last saw you....Amanda had her baby boy, Stanton Jerek.  Congratulations to Amanda and Nana Cheri and the whole Utah crew!  We can hardly wait to see him.

I am including photos taken the night before the sale by Shannon Miller of Special Moments Photography - thank you, Shannon.  I know I have other pictures floating around so I will try to get those posted on Facebook.

Thanks again to everybody who made it to our first sale - it was a kick!  See you all again in November.

(me, Whitney Asay of Petuniaz Jewelry, Macinsey, Whitney, a very pregnant mama- Amanda, Glenda, and Cheri)

Thanks to the whole crew!  You made all this possible.
