The Serendipity Summer Sale was a huge success!  Thank you so much to all of you who attended.
It rained on us ALOT as the sale began on Saturday but that did not dampen our spirits.

Thank you to all of our creative and super talented vendors!  The whole weekend was a shopping extravaganza!

Have you picked up a postcard? There are a thousand out and about - if you see one around town be sure to pick it up as a reminder of the upcoming Summer Serendipity Sale.

This is the second summer we are bringing you Serendipity and indoor staging is almost complete. We're leaving enough space to get around comfortably so we will be staging a lot outside as well. Everybody, please send your most positive energy for beautiful weather.  A day like today will be wonderful

So many things I love about organizing Serendipity but near and dear to my heart are the treasure hunters.  We are so lucky that the vendors/treasure hunters who have created these magical items are sharing a little piece of themselves with all of us.  It is a true gift to be able to look at an old dirty piece of furniture and recognize its  beautiful qualities.... and then create it. Or to pick up little trinkets here and there or items many of us pass over as trash and visualize how their color, texture and size will compliment each other and then assemble them into a work of art that we can wear or gifts with special meaning that we can share.

The items found at Serendipity have been rescued and brought back to life with soap and water, sandpaper, paint, scissors, recycling efforts, a keen eye and a lot of love.  These are people that live in your community who are creating unique and many one of a kind treasures for you and your home.

Please help me welcome back treasure hunters... Glenda Pullen of "Galore", Amanda Carmickle and Cheri McCurdy of "Oh, La, La", Whitney Asay of "Petuniaz", Judy Neal of "Out on a Whim", Andrea Green of "The Green Pickle",

And welcome new treasure hunters...Abbi Sides of "Chimney Rock Ranch", Natalie Feltch of "BeBe  Bow and Tutus" and Sarah Chafee who I will introduce in the next couple days.

Hope you will all mark your calendars and come out and support your local talent.

See you soon!

Oh my gosh! Serendipity is almost here!!!

It is the countdown now with only 21 days until the opening day of Serendipity!  I am so excited!  The inventory is rolling in and all I can say is "WOW!"

I am especially happy to welcome a new vendor to this sale!  If you aren't lucky enough to know her already ....Abby Sides of Chimney Rock Ranch is am amazingly talented new artist.
Abby has been creating one of a kind items for private clients but this is her first step towards her goal of participating in vintage shows full time and I believe she will do it - she has the talent and the drive and I feel so lucky that she is sharing her beautiful treasures with us.

Abby describes her style as "rustic cottage" but she loves to infusing vintage and primitive pieces with rich pops of color to give them new life!

You won't want to miss Abby's creations

June 14, 15 & 16

and be sure to check in with Abby and "Chimney Rock Ranch" on Facebook for before and afters and sneak peaks!

***If you are interested in becoming a vendor at Serendipity please don't hesitate to contact me at carruth.stacy@gmail.com
It is a juried show which means vendors are selected by style and presentation.  We are seeking vendors who have an eye for what is hot and happening in the vintage/handmade market business.  Experience isn't necessary but the right attitude is!

What a beautiful afternoon!  I am taking a couple minutes out of creating treasures to share a few pictures with all of you.  You will notice a little something that they all have in common....construction!

First, a view of highway 220 on the way out to our new home and new location of Serendipity.  If you haven't traveled west lately - you are missing out!  Who would have known road construction could be so fascinating?  The size of the heavy equipment is amazing and the  mountain they moved and the valley they filled to build the new and improved 4 lane highway is incredible.

So what does my barn and future home of Serendipity have to do with that project?... well....

we also moved a lot of dirt to level the ground and it is to build a new and improved Serendipity and ..... neither the road construction nor my barn are complete :(!!

So after a lot of consideration I have decided to hold my next sale,  the Summer Sale on June 14, 15 and 16 at our current location - 4474 Glen Drive.

I am actually really excited about it!  It is our last spring in this house which I have loved.  Mike and I have raised our kids here and being very sentimental, it's hard to leave. I also love when my trees have leaves and perennials grow back.

This also gives me more time to transform this barn like building located in a construction zone into a shopping dream - with some cleaning up, road base, stain, paint, lights and of course a lot of treasures (and get rid of the porta potty!) it will be a magical place!

I am throwing in a quick pic of our house - also nearing the end of construction - yeah!!

I am so excited to share our new place with all of you in the Fall/Winter of 2012.

Until then join us as we introduce new local participants as well as the many you know and love on June 14, 15 and 16.

Keep checking back for introductions and guest blogs!

The buffet finds a comfortable home

Wow!  Look what Jennifer McDowell and her husband Jared Stack did with this refinished buffet!  It is absolutely beautiful as a bathroom vanity.  This was one of my very favorite pieces from the first Serendipity sale and I am so happy for it to go to a loving home.

Thanks for sharing with us, Jenn and Jared!
