Autumn has been good to us this year. The days are warm like summer but noticeably shorter and the light is a hazy golden color. I love, during this transition to bring out my boots and light sweaters with warm hues and I especially appreciate my hot tea with almond milk first thing to warm me on chilly mornings.
Another of my favorites during this season is my much anticipated girls trip. Cheri, Amanda, my mom and I all head out to Salt Lake City on Labor Day weekend to visit our favorite haunts and discover new ones. We were joined by Amelia, the newest college student and Stantyn, the newest member of the family.
First, we discovered George's - a fun antique and architectural salvage spot. I love the SIMPLIFY sign amongst all the clutter...how ironic. We picked our way through the inside and the equally packed yard and found some fun treasures.
Including this really cool cart with coffee table written all over it!
Our second stop was "Walls". I highly recommend this shop if you are looking for large graphic wallpaper and a big dose of inspiration. I love the feeling I got in this shop. Lord, what they can do with a converted mechanics garage!
While I was out shopping... dirt was being moved to prepare for construction of the barn/the new and improved spot for Serendipity. Since then the guys have gotten some poles up so I can better picture how big it will actually be.
It is hard to tell by the picture but it will give Serendipity some more room, a bathroom, and my office/studio a place upstairs - how exciting! A couple of contractors are busy compiling bids for the remodel of the house so construction can begin in that area in a couple weeks. We expect to move in sometime in May. Crazy how life changes!
I'm off to complete some projects for the Fall/Winter Sale. Looking forward to seeing you all in November.
